No, it’s not an April fools prank, 6.0 is really available. It’s official, Zultys launched the new major version 6.0 late this afternoon. I’m installing it as I write this post. I did read through the release notes and there don’t seem to be that many gotchas but two of note are that passwords are now required for remote phones and unmanaged devices. I for one appreciate the increased security.
Zultys has gotten very good about releasing stable updates lately so I have no problem loading 6 on my iPBX. It looks like there has been a big to do in the press about the new version so you might have already heard of it. I’ll be highlighting some of the new and improvements in future articles, here is a taste of what you will see in the next weeks:
And that’s just for starters, there are a bunch of improvements on existing subsystems.
In the time it took me to write this post, my system was updated to 6.0.3 and MX Admin and MXIE had both begun to update automatically.
In the next post, I’ll give my initial thoughts and then get on to some of the new features.
